CTC stands for Cut, Tear, Curl and is a method of processing black tea in which the leaves are passed through a series of cylindrical rollers with hundreds of sharp teeth that crush, tear, and curl the tea into small, hard pellets or dust. Tea processed using CTC tend to brew faster and yields more cups of tea per kilogram. The brewed tea often tends towards a red colour.
